personal note

Dear Visitor,

I feel as if I need to add a more personal note to this website so that you can get to know me better and know more readily how God continues to touch my life even as I age.

I’ve always known that God’s calling on my life has been to provide physical as well as emotional care for individuals in need. God has blessed me with a listening ear and heart for individuals who are suffering. That is part of what led me into the field of Occupational Therapy.

He has also given me the gift of music. I never would have dreamed that through the many years of piano lessons and fearful recitals that He would have placed me in a church to play in front of a congregation. But He did! Over 15 years of service as the pianist for Royston Baptist Church has helped me to fulfill what I believe is part of His purpose for me.

And still, He continues to connect with me, calling me to do more. Always being drawn to write for my three children or my husband, offering words of encouragement or words of heart felt feelings, I felt that somewhere deep inside there was another purpose or another outlet for me to use to glorify the love of God. I, however, hid this desire as life’s roles were all too consuming.

Being a wife, mother of three, homemaker, and employed pediatric occupational therapist, my time was overloaded. Priorities were placed and they had to be. But as time has expanded, His purpose for my life has evolved. My relationship with Him has grown ever closer. My purposes have become clearer as He has allowed me to use other gifts that are given by Him to reach out and advocate in His name. I like to say that He is pulling at my heart string to reach out, reach out. And that is why I have begun to write more openly and to offer more of my time through His name. My time to individuals who began as the result of a career choice, but more obviously as a part of His plan.

"Why me, Father?"

Support is an important part of coping as a family experiences the diagnosis of a child. Research, communicate, question, and learn.
